Sobre/About

Sou fotógrafa e artista visual, formada em Comunicação Social pela PUC-MG. Comecei a fotografar em 1983, articulando diferentes práticas artísticas e experiências híbridas, entre elas a fotografia, o vídeo, a escrita e a arte sonora. Meu trabalho investiga as violências não evidentes que estruturam corpos, relações e os territórios na vida contemporânea, assim como os modos pelos quais os regimes de produção e circulação das imagens participam de sua manutenção ou de sua ruptura.

Desenvolvo projetos colaborativos que questionam normas sociais e evidenciam a violência simbólica inscrita no discurso cotidiano. Para mim, a imagem se constrói sempre na relação com a pessoa fotografada, a partir do tempo, da confiança e da intimidade — condições nas quais situo minha prática

A fotografia, a memória e a produção de novos sentidos são inquietações sempre presentes na minha trajetória. Tenho uma atenção especial ao campo da fotografia de família e tudo o que dialoga com a história e a invenção de memória.

I am a photographer and visual artist, with a degree in Social Communication from PUC-MG/ Brazil. I began photographing in 1983, articulating different artistic practices and hybrid experiences, including photography, video, writing, and sound art. My work investigates the non-obvious forms of violence that structure bodies, relationships, and places in contemporary life, as well as the ways in which regimes of image production and circulation participate in their maintenance or their rupture.

I develop collaborative projects that question social norms and reveal the symbolic violence embedded in everyday discourse. For me, the image is always constructed in relation to the person being photographed, through time, trust, and intimacy — the conditions within which I situate my practice.

Photography, memory, and the creation of new meanings are constant inquiries in my artistic journey. I have a special focus on family photography and everything that dialogues with history and the invention of memory.
